Lance-Corporal Harris 1916

Loughborough Monitor - 19th October 1916

L-Cpl. Harris, of the Royal Scots, has been awarded honours for distinguished conduct in the field. This is the second time this man's conduct has gained recognition during the present conflict, he having already been granted the D.C. M. The letter conveying the news of his success stated that it was for excellent work between July 14 to 15, during the attack on Longueval-Bazentin le Grand Ridge. He acted as battalion runner and carried messages under heavy shell fire when all communications had been cut. L-Cpl Harris's parents reside in Nursery Lane, Quorn.
