Floods, Meeting Street, 1960

Before flood prevention measures were taken in Quorn, the village used to flood with regularity. People may not realise that the water used to reach right down Meeting Street.

This photograph was taken in 1960 on Meeting Street, by Peter Gamble, almost opposite the lodge and gateway to Quorn House. The children are Jane Gamble (now Hollingworth) and her brother.
