This photograph appeared in the Echo in 1962. It was entitled 'St Bartholomew's School 1886', although at the time it was taken it was known as the National School. The accompany caption reads 'The above picture has been kindly loaned to the Echo by Mr L T Gamble, 9 Wood Lane, Quorn'. The headmaster at the time of the picture was Mr Adams.
It is highly unlikely that this photograph was taken in 1886 as Charles Adams did not join the school until 1889. This however probably dates from not long after that time, and is one of the earliest school photos we have ever seen.
