Men of Quorn Baptist Church entertain 80. 1959

Loughborough Monitor - 20th March 1959

About 80 members and friends of Quorn Baptist Church were entertained by men of the church at their annual party in the Schoolroom on Saturday. The event raised about £15 for the church fabric fund.

The men dressed up as young women to serve tea and organised a non-stop programme of games, dancing, community singing and variety items. Mr Ralph Cochrane staged games for the children and Mr Jack Field as compere, introduced the various comedy items. These included 'The Buskers', 'The Lighthouse Keeper' 'The Glamour Girl' and 'The Beverley Girls', complete with footballers.

Those responsible for the evening's entertainment were Ron Gamble, Aubrey Gamble, Brian Blencoe, Len Stevenson, Ralph Cochrane, Trevor Roadley, Philip Gamble and Geoffrey Gamble. Helping backstage were John Gamble, Jack Allen, Tony Roadley, John Gamble senior, Robert Prevost and Wilf Mee.
