Col. Toller soon to leave Quorn

Colonel W. S. N. Toller, well-known Quorn personality, who has lived at Quorn Court for many years, is leaving the village to join his son and daughter-in-law in Datchet, near Windsor. Although over 80 years old, Colonel Toller has remained active in village life and is connected with many local organisations.

A past church-warden at St Bartholomew's, he has for a long time been treasurer of the church free-will offering scheme; president of the British Legion; a life member of the football club; a playing member of the bowls club; a governor of the Rawlins Grammar School and an active member of Quorn Conservative Club.

A keen cricket fan, he was a constant visitor at Grace Road where he is a director of the adjoining firm of hosiery manufacturers, Toller and Lankester Ltd. He has been a local magistrate and was decorated with the D.S.O for service in the 1914-1918 war. He also holds the Territorial decoration for service.
