Markfield May Day Parade, winning float

The Markfield May Day Parade was an annual event in the village. This photo was taken from what is now the Station Road car park. The building behind the telegraph pole is Bradley's and to the right are three stone cottages which were converted into two cottages in the 1970s.

The man standing at the left is Richard Kearl. The building on the left is demolished and was located where the current row of shops is located. Photographs of that building are extremely rare.
