Laying of village hall memorial stones - June 29th 1889
This fragile poster advertising the ceremony for the laying of the memorial stones was found in the Leicester record office. The stones can still be seen on the front of the village hall.
The text of the poster reads:
Quorndon Village Hall
On Saturday afternoon, June 29 1889
Memorial Stones
Will be laid by
Miss L M G Farnham
Warner, Master
Hole, Master
Woodward
Miss Curzon
Martin
And Miss Wright
At two o'clock
Speeches will be delivered by
W E J B Farnham, Esqu
And
The Rev R c Faithfull
The Loughborough Volunteer Band
Will play a selection of music
At three o'clock, a public luncheon will be held in the Conservative Club Room, at which Mr Farnham will preside.
Gentlemen's tickets 2/6; and Ladies tickets 2/4 may be obtained from Mr T North, Post Office, Mr A Sault, White Horse Hotel, and
Geo White, secretary.
