A Midnight Disturber
Petty Sessions - Quorn manufacturer summoned.
Sydney J Wright, manufacturer, Quorn was summoned for disturbing F B Gibbons, Chaveney Road, Quorn, on May 10th. Mr R S Clifford, jnr., appeared for defendant. Complainant said that at midnight on the date named he was aroused by a hammering at the door. He opened the window and saw three persons, none of whom he could recognise, who ran away when he challenged them. This nuisance had been going on for two years, and he only wanted it stopping. He did not press the case, and was sorry Mr Wright had been selected while the other two got off.
Cross-examined: Mr Wright did not come to apologise until after witness had complained to the police. PC Thornton said that as the result of his enquiries he saw the defendant, who admitted that he had knocked at Mr Gibbons' door. Mr Clifford said defendant took all responsibility for the affair, for which he apologised, and expressed his regret. Find 20s and costs.
