Loughborough Echo - 15th March 1968

Quorn Conservative Club's long alley skittles final for the President's Cup was competed for on Friday. George Sykes beat Brian Smith in an exciting match, the result hinging on the last throw. The cup was handed over to the winner by Mr Frank Bream, son of the donor. The cup was presented by Mr W H Bream in 1927 and first won by Mr J C Mee in 1928. It has not been competed for since 1934 when the winner was Mr Eustace Jollands. Pictured, left to right are: Mr L Sharpe (sports secretary), Mr Smith, Mr Sykes (winner), Mr Frank Bream and Mr H Dermott (club president).
