Met on leave in Quorn

21st January 1944

These four Quorn sailor boys recently met on leave. They are Bernard Dean, Lionel Freeman, Maurice Sykes and Ray Fletcher.

John Rudkin has been in touch with the museum team and tells us that Bernard Dean was his uncle and godfather. He was the eldest son of John's grandparents, John and Edith Dean, who lived at 44 Barrow Road. John and Edith had four children; Ivy (the eldest and John Rudkin's mother), Bernard, Stan and Les.
