US troops based in Quorn photographed at De Montfort Hall, Leicester

Leicester's De Montfort Hall was the gather place for many troopers of the 505th PIR to fraternise with the English Wrens and other pretty girls, and they were not bashful about solidifying Allied relationships. They did their best to be integrated into the local populace. Two 505ers are identified in this photograph. Standing on the right is S/Sgt Harry Yachechak of H, Co, 3rd Platoon and in the rear row the tall trooper is Master Sgt Ward.
