Spring Fair, Quorn

Loughborough Monitor - 11th April 1975

Members of Quorn Women's Institute pictured with their first prize exhibit in the handicraft section of the County Crafts and Produce 1975, which formed part of the Leicestershire and Rutland Women's Institute Spring Fair at Brooksby Agricultural College on Saturday. In the picture, left to right, are Mary Edgar, Betty Thompson, Betty Macdiarmid, Anne Greenwood and Dorothy Organ.

Museum Team note: Helen Dorothy Organ (known as Dorothy), was a founder member of Quorn WI and extremely talented in the fields of craft and leatherwork which she taught at evening classes in different parts of the county. She wrote a very successful 'Suede and Leather Wear' book published by Dryad in 1972.
