Howlett's Bus Company

Founded in Quorn by George Howlett in the early 1920s. The bus depot, off Barrow Road was a smallholding at this time. The first motor-bus ran between Quorn and Loughborough and was called 'My Fancy'. At the time George died in 1954, the firm ran 9 buses a day between Sileby and Loughborough and express services to Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough as well as other excursion resorts. In 1979 the firm was taken over by Tricentral Travel Group
