John Sanders and daughter

John Sanders (senior) was born in 1838. He excelled in the making of hand-carved oak furniture and sold many items to Mr Farnham of Quorn House and Mr Warner of Quorn Hall. His son, John, also became a master carpenter and he carved the rood screen in Quorn Church in 1913. The family lived at 27 Meeting Street.

This photograph was taken in about 1904 and shows John (junior) with his eldest daughter Mary.
