Moated Medieval Hunting Lodge, Quorn

Off Chaveney Road, along the public footpath by Mill Fields Farm is Quorn’s only national scheduled monument, as recorded by Historic England (no. 1010196). This is believed to be a moated medieval hunting lodge or possibly a mill, associated with the ancient deer park that covered parts of Quorn before it became a village.

Little can be seen from the ground, but this satellite view from Google Earth from 2006 clearly shows the square outline. The picture on the right is a sketch drawing of the moated scheduled monument.
