M Wright and Sons, WW2, producing military webbing for the USA

M Wright and Sons Ltd of Quorn produced American webbing alongside British military webbing during WW2. The attached pdf document contains 15 photographs of various items of US military webbing made by Wrights. Such items are very collectable and these images and information have been kindly provided by keen collector Andrew Lingard. Most of these items were used during the D Day landings.

During WW2 there was a USA Lend-Lease Act 1941 whereby the USA supplied the Allies with oil, food and other supplies. Conversely there was also a Reciprocal Aid programme or Reverse Lend-Lease, where British companies manufactured goods for Americans, including US webbing, Uniforms, Insignia, ammunition tins and other items used in the D-Day invasion. It was under this Reverse Lend-Lease that Wrights produced the American webbing.
