Quorn Cross 1988, paintings by Kevon Thompson

These two wonderful pictures were painted in Acrylics by Kevon Thompson from Barrow upon Soar in 1988.

Kevon (full name Francis Kevon Thompson) was born in Barrow in 1933, and passed away there on 1st January 2021 aged 85. He was described by his friend and neighbour Andrew Webster, as a very shy and unassuming man.

It is evident that Kevon was a very skilled artist, but he was also a talented calligrapher and keen photographer. A few years after Kevon died, his widow Mary very generously sold many of his paintings for Macmillan Cancer Support. Quorn Village On-line Museum is very grateful to Andrew who purchased twenty of the paintings, with the sole purpose of finding the best homes for them. The museum team are thrilled to have these two!
