The Manor House Hotel, Woodhouse Road, Quorn

The Manor House Hotel on Woodhouse Road opened in 1899, the year after the opening of the new Quorn and Woodhouse Great Central Railway Station. The licence was transferred from the Three Crowns in Meeting Street.

The Manor was owned originally by Mr James A Hartopp.

The first postcard was posted in 1910 and shows a side and back view of the hotel. On the front it says:
"Adjoining Quorn Station and within a short distance of Woodhouse Eaves, Hanging Stone Rocks, Beacon Hill and the most picturesque spots in Charnwood Forest. Special weekend terms. Bowling Green, Tennis Courts, Stabling etc. Drives arranged"

The second postcard was posted in 1918 and is the view from Woodhouse Road. The text reads:
"Large and small parties are catered for at short notice on reasonable terms. Adjoining Great Central Station within five minutes of Woodhouse. Special week-end terms. Worthingtons On draught in bottle. Jas. A. Hartopp proprietor"
