St Bartholomew’s Church Extension, 1995

An extension to provide more facilities for St Bartholomew’s Church had been needed for a long time, but it was not until the 1990s that this became a possibility. Costing £130,000 the contract for the extension was signed in May 1995 and building work was completed later that year.

Robert Beardsley, from New Quorn House (5 Loughborough Road, next to Rawlins), took photographs recording the whole process. He produced a folder with the pictures and explanations which was left with Rev David Bowler. When David retired in October 2021, the album was left in the custody of Derek Cooper and his valuable record is reproduced in the attached album.
