Triptych War Memorial in Quorn St Bartholomew’s Church

After the WW1 armistice, a permanent memorial to those who died was commissioned for the inside of St Bartholomew’s Church. The painted oak triptych was unveiled in the north aisle on Sunday 14th December 1919, and was paid for by public subscription. The names of the WW1 fallen are listed on the two side panels, with the centre panel depicting the crucifixion.

Around the same time a beautifully illuminated Book of Remembrance was also commissioned, which is now kept in a display cabinet beneath the triptych.

The names of the men from Quorn who died in WW2 are inscribed on a panel below the triptych.
