Quorn War Memorial, 1920s

Quorn war memorial was unveiled in 1921 and this photograph was taken very shortly afterwards. Prior to the First World War the area was known as the Little Green, and as can be seen, it was originally lot more open than it is today.

The large house in the background was called Brook House, once the prestigious home of the Parnham-Stone family, but it became very dilapidated before being demolished in 1963.
