Football at Quorn 1897

Petty Sessions

Thomas Hutton, Arthur Ball, Wm Wilders, labourers, Arthur Wilders, factory hand and Arthur Wilmore, newsboy, all of Quorn, were charged with playing football on the highway at Quorn on the 6th inst. PC Grant said the defendants were playing on the road known as New Quorn with a ball half the size of an ordinary football, one of them acting as goalkeeper at the end of the road. Hutton was fined 7s 6., and the other defendants 5s each.
