Daphne Oxenford with Quorn Brownies, 1958

Many people will remember Daphne Oxenford as a well known presenter of ‘Listen with Mother’ from 1950 to 1971. She was married to David Marshall, and her mother-in-law, Edith Marshall and her brother-in-law William Marshall, lived on Chaveney Road in Quorn in the 1950s and 1960s. Mrs Marshall was often involved with Quorn Brownies and Guides, and as a result she was able to ask her famous daughter-in-law to open fetes etc, on more than one occasion.

This photograph was taken when Daphne Oxenford visited Quorn on 10th May 1958. Daphne Oxenford also appears in artefact 134

Daphne Oxenford can be seen in the photograph at the back (no 5). Can anyone provide any more names?
