82nd Airborne Paratroopers at Quorn Camp 1944

Francis X. Schweikert, was an American paratrooper based at Quorn Camp from July to September 1944. These photographs and those in artefact 2044 and artefact 2045 were taken at the tented Quorn Camp and given to Francis by John Diffin (a fellow paratrooper) when he visited the Schweikert home in 1947. All of the men shown here were in G Company:

Picture 3 – Elmer J. Baker, killed in action 5th October 1944. John Diffin wrote on the back “My partner Baker. Remember the day he got killed in Holland and I came back and crawled in the hole with you.
Picture 4 – Elmer J. Baker, killed in action 5th October 1944.
