Hidden heroes, Frank Hearn – a story of one man’s WW2

Frank Hearn from Barrow Road in Quorn, was in the 64th Medium Regiment Royal Artillery during WW2. This regiment was particularly remarkable as it was involved in virtually every campaign in the Mediterranean and Western theatres of war.

In August 2016, Frank talked to Sue Templeman from Quorn Village On-line Museum about his WW2 experiences. The result is this detailed and fascinating account of one man’s war.

The museum is indebted to Frank and very grateful that he felt he could share his story. A shortened version of this article appeared in the Quorndon magazine in Spring 2017.
