Quorn Cross, late 1930s

Quorn Cross looking towards the Loughborough direction, showing the Royal Oak on the left and the White Horse on the right.

The vehicles and adverts indicate that the photograph was taken in the late 1930's.

The painted signwriting on the end of the tall building (centre), advertises the Royal Opera House in Leicester. The shop immediately across the road from the White Horse (centre right), is R D Otter, Post Office, groceries and provisions.

This photograph was kindly lent to Quorn Village On-line Museum for scanning, by Barry, who was landlord of the White Horse pub from the early 1980s.
