Quorn Mills Bowls Club, September 1928

This photograph of Quorn Mills Bowls Club has been sent to the museum team by Pam Hampson, a relative of Charles Percy Mee, who appears on the front row, second from the right.

The photograph appeared in the press when the Club won the Hartopp Cup in 1928.

Quorn Mills Park (on High Street) was founded by M. Wright and Sons in 1919 for their employees. In 1920 Quorn Mills Park Bowls Club was formed. It was initially only for men, but ladies were admitted in 1938.
