Press Cutting, 6th May 1955 - Quorn Bowlers Open the Season

The first wood of the new season is sent down on a Quorn green. The scene is Quorn Mills Park, where members of the Mills Parks Bowls Club gathered to open the season on Saturday afternoon.

The gentleman about to bowl is Sam Hallam from (what is now) 32 Wood Lane.

This press cutting was kindly supplied by David Bowers who is a descendent of Sam Hallam.

Since publishing one more person has been identified:
Charles Percy Mee is the gentleman standing behind Sam Hallam at his right shoulder (with no hat on).
