Burton's newsagents, 1936, 25 High Street, Quorn

This article about Burton's newsagents on High Street, appeared in the Quorndon Magazine in Autumn 2013.

The story all started from a grubby and creased photograph. Not only was it an interesting photograph of a Quorn shop, but it provided a great opportunity to show how modern techniques – both in terms of research and photographs – could draw out a surprising amount of information, and turn an ordinary picture into a story.

Thank you to Joyce and Brian Burton and their daughter Karen for getting in touch after the article was published.
