Sanders Road – then and now

This area, between Tom Longs Meadow and the Bowls Club, is now the top end of Sanders Road off Meeting Street. The older photograph was taken in June 1989 before Sanders Road was built. The thatched roof of the Bowls Club can just be seen in the background. It is hard to believe that this lovely field was so close to the centre of the village.
