Quorn Hunt kennels, 1884

An engraving of Quorn Hunt kennels from The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News November 1884.

Quorn Hunt was based at Quorn Hall on Meynell Road from when it started in the 1700s, until the move to Paudy Lane, Barrow on Soar in 1906. The cupola with the clock and weather vane still exists today, but the ‘beehive’ kennels have long since been demolished.

This image was a particularly interesting find, as pictures of the kennels themselves are quite rare, especially in the context of surrounding buildings.
