The Old Lock-up

These photographs were taken in the early 1960s, around the time that the public toilets housed in the old lock-up building were closed after being declared 'unsanitary' - and the old lock-up was once more going to find itself looking for a new purpose.

If you enter 'lock-up' into the site's search box (top right), there is more information regarding its history. An article in Artefact 1546 shows the opposition there was at this time, to preserving what is now a restored grade 2 listed building.
