Quorndon Electoral Roll 1924

Electoral rolls can help you work out who lived in your house in days gone by.

Electoral rolls, by definition only include those people entitled to vote. However, despite this limitation, they provide a valuable link between family names and addresses within an area - covering that sometimes difficult period after the latest released census returns. Note: 1911 is the latest census return available at the time of writing in 2012.

In Quorn, electoral rolls are particularly useful as the 1911 census has no house numbers. The 1924 electoral roll includes most house numbers and some house names. House numbers are usually very useful, although it must be borne in mind that some streets have been renumbered more than once, eg Chaveney Road. If this has happened on a street you are interested in, it is still usually possible to trace a property and its new number, by tracking near neighbours that have not moved from previous electoral rolls - and then working out their relative positions.

The streets appear in alphabetical order.
