The Banks Cottages being demolished, 1970s

These rather sad pictures were taken by Richard Thompson in the 1970s when the Banks Cottages were being demolished.

The first picture shows the cottages from the front. The slates and doors have been removed and have been piled up against the railings. The second picture shows the site after the cottages have been demolished but before the site was cleared.

The third picture shows the backs, immediately prior demolition - and the fourth picture shows the demolition from the back, part way through.
