Leicester Road, Wakerley Court and The Mills area - then and now

The older photograph was taken in the 1970s when the shops and cottages on Leicester Road (where The Mills flats are now) were being demolished. You can see a man on the roof removing the tiles. This view is looking up Leicester Road towards Quorn Cross. The paler building on the right, just to the left of the lamp post, is Wakerley's bakery which was demolished a few years ago.
