1961 Friends of Markfield Parade at Quorn on the Green

This photograph was taken in 1961 on Station road on the village green, before it was turned into a car park. What is now Bradley's supermarket and the cottages next to it, can be seen in the background.

The occasion was the Friends of Markfield parade. Left to right are Rachel Lord (old woman who lived in a shoe), Malcolm Lord (speedy Alka Selter), Graham Lord (do it yourself) and Stephen Lord (scarecrow).
