An advert for Robertshaw wool shop.

This was the business of Norah Robertshaw which was simply known locally as "Robertshaws". The business was originally owned by Mrs Hefford at 4 High Street. She retired and it was taken over by Norah in 1936 at 6 High Street, this being a newly converted shop premises, (now the 'Tandori Empire').

Harry Robertshaw died in 1940 and later Norah married Bill Woolley. The shop retained the "Robertshaw" identity. Norah ran the shop for over 20 years and when she retired her son and daughter-in-law carried on with it until 1966 when it was sold.

Thank you to Syd Robertshaw for the additional information.
