Quorn Angling Society - 1872

Loughborough Advertiser - 24th October 1872

A special meeting of the members of this society was held at the White Hart, Quorndon, on Wednesday evening, the 16th inst. J F Scott, Esq vice-president of the association, in the chair.

The funds are found to be inadequate for the continuance of two river keepers, and it had been previously resolved to discontinue the services of one of the present keepers; and an election had taken place; but owing to the fact of several members not receiving voting papers, their names not being on the books, it was deemed desirable at this meeting to hold another election. Several other matters connected with the society having been discussed, the meeting concluded by a vote of thanks to the chairman, and also the Hon Sec (T Thorpe, Esq).
