Advertisement - 1959

One of a series of adverts from 1959. Hall's grocery shop obviously thought it was a cut about the others by offering Bird's Eye frozen foods!

Anthony Cove recollects:
"Jack Hall ran this grocers shop in the 1940's & 50's at 14 the High Street next door to Quorn Guest House or The OLD bull as we called it, it was a double fronted shop & he and his wife lived in the adjoining house, they ran the old time dancing club that was held at the village hall on a Tuesday evening. At that time there were three grocers in the high street the other two were Overends opposite Quorn Court & the Post Office on the Cross."
