New Vicar of Quorn - The Rev S A Jackson 1957

The Rev S A Jackson MA., vicar of Asfordby, has been appointed by the Bishop of Leicester to be Vicar of Quorn in succession to the Rev F H Allen, who recently left for Canada.

The Rev Jackson graduated MA in 1944 and was ordained deacon at St Alban's Abbey in 1942 and priest the following year. He was curate of Bishop's Hatfield 1942-45; of St Francis, Welwyn Garden City 1945-49 (both in Hertfordshire).

He was appointed Leicester Diocesan Youth Chaplain 1949-52; Rector of Asfordby 1952; and was also priest in charge of Frisby and Kirby Bellars from 1952-54.

The Rev Jackson was married in 1952, and has two daughters, Charlotte and Bronwen
