Quorn Angling Society annual supper 1899
Loughborough Herald - 1st June 1899
The annual supper took place at the Pig and Whistle Inn, on Friday, when forty members and others sat down to a good repast, served by Mr A Briers. Afterwards Mr E C Laundon was voted to the chair. The usual loyal and other toasts were proposed, and a vote of thanks was tendered Mr E H Warner and all the landowners and occupiers for allowing the society the fishing rights in the river. “Success to the Quorn Angling Society” was responded to by the secretary, Mr W James. The remainder of the evening was spent in an enjoyable manner, songs being contributed by Messrs Rudkin, Maiden, Briers, Clarke, James, F Baum, Hunt and G Weedon of Nottingham. Votes of thanks were accorded the host and hostess, chairman and secretary, all of whom were accorded musical honours. Everything passed off very
satisfactorily.
