Child Murder in Quorn Parish - 1833

Derby Mercury - 1st May 1833

An inquest was held on Tuesday the 16th, and by adjournment on Wednesday the 24th ult. before C Meredith, Esq, coroner, at the Mundy Arms Inn, Loughborough, on the body of Elizabeth Thurman, about ten years of age, who was found in Villing's Lock, in the parish of Quorndon, on the Leicestershire Navigation, in the previous week. Verdict Wilful Murder, against some person or persons unknown to the jury.
