Postcard of The Thatch

This card was posted in November 1904.

This property was originally three cottages, which date from the 16th century. The 1911 census shows Walter Teagle the chimney sweep, his wife and their nine children living in the property. The Teagles were a well known Quorn family.

The postcard is addressed to Mrs G G Dexter in Leominster and reads:
"Have been expecting H.B.L. to call this week, but expect weather has been too bad. I am writing him tomorrow. Have been at home this aft, too rough to go anywhere. Had 2 extra in this morning, but one has departed, black & white, one remaining, all white"
It is assumed that the writer is refering to cats!
