This shot is taken facing into The Cross. The building behind the tall tree is The White Horse and those to the right of the pub still exist. The building with the sign on has been demolished and the land is now a housing development. The sign reads "M. Wright & Sons Ltd. [***] Elastics".
Brook House was sited in the area now known as Hall Leys, off Leicester Road, opposite the Memorial Garden and across Buddon Brook.
