Freehold Street Coronation Party
12th June 1953 - Loughborough Monitor
Freehold Street Coronation party in Quorn on Saturday was a great success. For proof look at the happy faces in the picture!
Thirty-seven children sat down for a slap-up meal and afterwards they each received a present and a souvenir mug. The party was arranged by Mrs Griffiths, Mrs Bentall and Mrs Littlewood. Sports were held on Mr C Pepper's field.
This information was also supplied by Darinda Freeman:
In the picture are my mother Linda Margaret Dakin (5th from the left front row) and Aunt June Ann Dakin (blonde child standing behind the 6th child on the front row) as well as my Nan - just peeping at the back Joan Margary Evelyn Fox/Dakin (dead centre at the back row behind the child in long party hat - you can only see half her face).
