Quorn Coronation Sports Cup
The wording (just about readable) is:
'Coronation Sports Quorn, June 26 1902, 100 Yards (Open), 1st Prize J. Gamble.'
The image was donated by Stuart Gamble who adds this information:
'J. Gamble was my grandfather Joseph (on my father's side). I never met him but dad (Vic. Gamble) occasionally took me to his grave in Quorn churchyard. I believe that Joseph was a keen local cricketer, and was married to Olive who lived on Meynell Road for quite some time, then moved to Woodhouse.'
The cup is hallmarked but does not have a plinth - whether it had one in 1902 is uncertain.
