Blacksmith's Arms, Quorn

"One for the road" took on quite a special meaning at the Blacksmith's Arms, Quorn last weekend, when an apparently much travelled bunch of vagrants assembled for a Tramps 'n' Vamps supper.
The pub's regular Wednesday night musical group came looking like itinerant minstrels and can be seen in the picture - pianoman Jess Henty on the left, bearded bass player Sid Williams (centre) and on the right a strolling clarinet player who gave his name as Mr Hogwash McKorkle.
Also in the picture, left to right are Lynne Cook, who took second prize for her hobo gear, vamp Jean Williams and another "gentleman" of the road, Jean Whiteman. Two other tramps, Ann Macey and Nan Hill took first and third prizes, which were handed out by two of the judges, Mr and Mrs Bob McGregor
