Trespassing on the railway
Loughborough Advertiser - August 25th 1881
Thomas Wesson was charged with trespassing on the Midland Railway in the parish on two or three separate times. There was also a charge against him of committing wilful damage. From the evidence of PC Darby it appeared that the defendant had been warned not to go on the railway again , but he repeated the offence, and had twice made a fire in a hut be the side of the line, and burnt part of a sleeper. Darby's evidence having been confirmed, the bench imposed a fine for the trespass, 40/- plus costs. Wilful damage dismissed.
