Constructing the modern footbridge on Leicester Road
A 1675 map (Ogilby's) shows a bridge of five arches here because the stream used to be wider and shallower near to Brook House. The Farnham family were responsible for the upkeep of the bridge. In the 19th century the course of the brook was altered in order to channel water for use in the mill on the green.
The modern footbridge runs parallel to the stone road bridge.
