Quorn – the best kept village!

Between 1996 and 2004 the village received a number of awards. Quorn Parish Council at the time were very proactive and had introduced a number of improvement initiatives including a greening project, a conservation area, planters and flower beds sited on formerly unkempt areas, refurbishment of the War Memorial garden, environmental and best kept garden competitions. All of which contributed to the village’s success.

Following from the successes as Leicestershire’s Best Kept Village two years running in 1996 and 1997 it went on to win the 2000 Daily Telegraph/Calor Gas National Environmental Village of the Year award.
